IMPORTANT: Please note that the ICMS online portal is not yet intended for timetable planning or course enrolment. These functions can still be found in LSF as usual.

The examination period for a winter semester is expected to begin in mid-January of each year and end in early February. 

The examination period for a summer semester is expected to begin at the end of June each year and end around mid-July. 

Please note: However, individual examination dates may be scheduled earlier. You can find the exact examination dates in the examination timetable for your Faculty or degree programme. This is published either on notice boards, on the website or in general Moodle courses. For precise information, please contact the administrative office of your Faculty or degree programme. The examination timetable includes the examination dates, the examiners and the type of examination. 

Please note that the dates may be subject to further change. We therefore recommend that you check the examination timetable regularly for any updates.

Exams
subject to the continuation requirement If, in the previous semester, you were ill (as evidenced by a doctor’s certificate), failed an exam or module, or did not attend, you must register for these exams yourself in the current semester due to the continuation requirement. In addition, the Examinations Office carries out a so-called ‘service registration’ for these compulsory exams.

registration and withdrawal Once you have successfully registered for or withdrawn from an exam, you must print out the ‘List of registered exams’ as proof.

Problems with registering for or withdrawing from examinations
If you encounter any problems during the registration process, please contact the Examinations Office immediately by telephone or email. Once the deadline has passed, it is no longer possible to register for or withdraw from examinations. Problems with registration or withdrawal that are beyond the university’s control do not constitute a valid reason for absence, and you will not be able to sit the examinations.

The following dates have been set for the 2025/26 winter term:

• In addition, your degree programme or Faculty may have different registration and withdrawal deadlines for individual examinations outside the examination period, which will then apply to you. Please check this, as the deadlines mentioned above do not apply to such examinations.
• You can find all the registration and withdrawal deadlines applicable to your specific examination in the examination timetable for your degree programme or Faculty. The deadlines stated there are binding.
• If you encounter any technical problems, please contact the Examinations Office immediately by email.
