Legal provisions (extract from the Worms University of Applied Sciences Enrolment Regulations)

Section 23: Auditors

  1. Upon application and with the approval of the Faculty, individuals wishing to further their knowledge in specific subject areas may be admitted as visiting students, even if they do not meet the requirements for admission as full-time students, provided that their level of education suggests they are capable of following the courses. Auditors are not members of the university. They do not have student status.
  2. Visiting students may be admitted
    1. provided they have paid the fee set out in the specific schedule of fees issued by the relevant ministry,
    2. provided that places are available on the desired courses. Admission to courses with limited enrolment may only take place once the number of places not taken up by full-time students has been determined on the basis of the attendance lists.
  3. Visiting students are granted permission to attend specific courses listed on their visiting student certificate for the duration of one semester.
  4. Visiting students may obtain certificates of achievement – which do not constitute examination results within the meaning of examination regulations – in the courses listed on their visiting student certificate, in accordance with the usual criteria applicable to those courses. These achievements are certified with a note stating that they were completed whilst holding guest student status.
  5. Visiting students are not entitled to sit examinations or undertake academic work as part of a degree programme.
  6. Applications for admission as a guest student must be submitted to the Student Registry at Worms University of Applied Sciences, usually within the specified re-enrolment deadlines.
  7. In all other respects, the provisions of these regulations apply mutatis mutandis.
