Lust auf ein Auslandssemester?
Mit meinem Abschluss wurde ich bei meinem Partnerbetrieb übernommen, bei dem ich nun als DevOps Engineer an einer internen Entwicklungsplattform arbeite. Privat experimentiere ich immer mal wieder an Projekten im Kontext von Entwicklungswerkzeugen wie Lintern oder Language Servern. Aktuell genieße ich ein wenig die Ruhe, aber ein Masterstudium ist trotzdem in nicht allzu ferner Zukunft auf meiner Agenda.
Course content
Bringing business and IT together in a practical way
On the Bachelor’s degree programme in Business Informatics, you will learn how information systems support business processes and how to implement digital solutions within organisations.
In the first few semesters, you will acquire a grounding in programming, databases, business administration, accounting and ERP systems. In doing so, you will combine knowledge from computer science and business.
Work placement or semester abroad in the 5th semester
In the 5th semester, you will choose between a work placement in a company or a semester abroad at a partner university. During the work placement, you will apply your knowledge directly in a professional setting. During the semester abroad, you will deepen your specialist knowledge and gain international experience.
Bachelor’s thesis and future prospects
Your degree programme concludes with your Bachelor’s thesis. In this, you will explore a topic from your chosen specialisation and apply your knowledge to a specific research question.

- You will need the general university entrance qualification (Abitur), a university of applied sciences entrance qualification, or a subject-specific entry qualification – for example, through vocational training – or an equivalent qualification.
- Admission to this degree programme is subject to quotas; admission is determined by the number of applicants.
- Applicants with foreign qualifications must also demonstrate sufficient proficiency in German.
There are no tuition fees for this degree programme at Worms University of Applied Sciences. The only charge is the semester fee, which currently stands at €155.70 (covering, amongst other things, the student services organisation).
Application deadlines:
- 15 January for commencement of studies in the summer term
- 15 July for the winter semester
Application procedure and start of lectures:
- The Business Informatics programme is subject to the central application procedure of Worms University of Applied Sciences.
- Lectures begin in the summer semester in the second half of March, and in the winter semester at the beginning of October.
- Applying early may enable you to take part in optional preparatory courses.
- Welcome and orientation events also take place in the week before lectures begin.
