MBA in Mindful Leadership – Leadership with Purpose, Clarity and Responsibility

Our present is characterised by far-reaching changes, uncertainty and mounting pressure. Digitalisation, technological progress and the ever-increasing pace of life are challenging the way we think – and are increasingly straining our mental and emotional resilience. Traditional management methods are reaching their limits.

The major challenges of our time cannot be tackled with the leadership models of yesterday. We need a new kind of leader:

people who lead with a clear mind and an open heart. People who, in the face of pressure and uncertainty, guide their team with clarity and focus. People who combine strength and composure – whilst keeping the well-being of everyone in mind.

It is precisely skills such as empathy, creativity, openness and intuition that are often overlooked – yet it is exactly these profoundly human qualities that distinguish us from machines in the age of artificial intelligence.

What is Mindful Leadership? Mindfulness meets leadership excellence.

Mindful Leadership combines leadership excellence with mindfulness practice to systematically develop focus, presence, judgement and resilience. The approach was developed specifically for leaders by Janice Marturano – a former senior executive at General Mills – who was inspired by Jon Kabat-Zinn and Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR).

Neuroscientific research shows that these skills can be specifically trained. Organisations around the world, such as Google (the ‘Search Inside Yourself’ programme), General Mills, Intel, Honeywell, SAP, the US military and the World Economic Forum, are embracing this approach.

MBA in Mindful Leadership – Study Programme

The MBA in Mindful Leadership combines sound business administration skills with a focus on mindful leadership – plus individual specialisation topics from the third semester onwards: sustainability, the impact of AI, innovation & moonshots, social entrepreneurship, lean start-ups, philosophy & ethics, and international relations.

What’s changing – for you and your business

The MBA does not end with the Master’s thesis. What remains is a new clarity in your leadership style: more focused, more composed, more effective – even, and especially, in situations fraught with pressure and uncertainty.

This clarity does not remain with you alone. It permeates your team and your organisation: in decision-making processes, in dealing with conflicts, and in the ability to guide others through change rather than merely managing it. Your Master’s thesis – rooted in your own organisation – is often the first visible step in bringing about this impact.
