The dual Master’s programme in Business Informatics combines academic content with practical work within a company. Throughout your studies, you will work in collaboration with a partner company and apply your knowledge directly in a practical setting.
You will deepen your knowledge in areas such as process management, leadership and digital innovation management. In doing so, you will learn to combine IT skills with business management knowledge.
The work placements prepare you for roles in the digital economy. The programme is aimed at anyone wishing to take on specialist and managerial responsibilities at the interface between IT and business administration.
The programme has a modular structure and combines theoretical content with practical phases.

Mit meinem Abschluss wurde ich bei meinem Partnerbetrieb übernommen, bei dem ich nun als DevOps Engineer an einer internen Entwicklungsplattform arbeite. Privat experimentiere ich immer mal wieder an Projekten im Kontext von Entwicklungswerkzeugen wie Lintern oder Language Servern. Aktuell genieße ich ein wenig die Ruhe, aber ein Masterstudium ist trotzdem in nicht allzu ferner Zukunft auf meiner Agenda.
Course content
Practical studies, a career start – your dual degree programme in Business Informatics
On the dual Master’s programme in Business Informatics, you will build on your Bachelor’s degree and deepen your knowledge at the interface between IT, management and digitalisation. In doing so, you will combine academic study with practical work at a partner company.
In the first semester, you will focus on leadership, project management and digital innovation management. You will learn how to lead teams, plan software projects and strategically develop digital solutions.
In the second semester, you will deepen your knowledge of business intelligence and process management. You will also be able to choose a specialisation. The options available are Business Information Technology, Digital Business Management and Finance and Controlling.
In the third semester, you will apply your knowledge in a practice-oriented Master’s project. You will usually write your Master’s thesis in collaboration with a company. In doing so, you will work on a specific topic and gain further practical experience.
After graduating, you can work, for example, in IT consultancy, digital management, data analysis or in senior IT roles.

Things to know
Important details about your degree programme
Here you will find all the key details about the dual Master’s programme in Business Informatics – presented in a concise and clear format.
To be eligible for admission, you must hold a degree from a university, college or equivalent institution in Business Informatics or a similar subject, with a standard duration of study of at least six semesters.
International applicants with foreign qualifications must provide evidence of their proficiency in German.
There are no tuition fees for this degree programme at Worms University of Applied Sciences. The only charge is the semester fee, which is currently €155.70 (covering, amongst other things, the Student Services Organisation).
Application deadlines:
- The application deadlines are 28 February for the start of studies in the summer term (29 February in leap years)
- and 31 August for the winter semester.
Application procedure and start of lectures:
- The degree programme is subject to the decentralised application procedure of Worms University of Applied Sciences. A further requirement for admission is a contract with a partner company.
Lectures begin in the second half of March for the summer semester and in early October for the winter semester.
