How to apply for a degree programme that does not require an entrance qualification
We are delighted that you have chosen to study at Worms University of Applied Sciences. To apply, please use the university’s decentralised application process. You apply directly via the Worms University of Applied Sciences application portal. For degree programmes with no admission restrictions, you will automatically be admitted provided you meet the entry requirements. For Master’s and MBA programmes, however, specific selection criteria apply, meaning admission is not automatically guaranteed. On this page, we explain the individual steps of your application process. Should you have any questions along the way, Student Services is here to assist you in person.
Step 1: Register on the applicant portal
You should register on the Worms University of Applied Sciences applicant portal. There, you can submit up to three applications electronically.
Tip: Apply well in advance. This will allow you to check the applicant portal in good time to see if any documents are missing and take appropriate action. We are unable to process applications submitted shortly before the deadline before the deadline expires.

Step 2: Compile and upload your application documents
You will be asked to upload documents at various stages of your online application. Please have the following documents to hand.
- Your university entrance qualification, e.g. A-level certificate or equivalent
- Your current CV
- Proof of military service or a Voluntary Social Year (FSJ), if applicable
- Documents relating to your vocational training, if applicable
- Where applicable, proof of language proficiency for degree programmes that require an additional language level

Additional documents for your Bachelor’s degree application
In that case, please also upload the following documents:
- University degree certificate, if you have already successfully completed your degree
- Certificate of no objection: This certificate confirms whether you have already forfeited your right to sit examinations in this degree programme at other universities. It is usually issued by the Examinations Office. Sometimes this information is already included in your academic transcript.
- Transcript of records showing all passed and failed examinations: The transcript must be up to date, i.e. as close as possible to the time of application. It must show all examinations taken, including the number of attempts and ECTS credits.
- Module handbook: Please provide us with the link to the module handbook for the degree programme you were studying at Worms University of Applied Sciences prior to your application. This is only necessary if you have already completed modules there.
In that case, please also upload:
- Proof of German language proficiency
- Preliminary application documentation (VPD), issued by uni-assist for Worms University of Applied Sciences
Regarding proof of German language proficiency: If you did not obtain your university entrance qualification in Germany, you must provide evidence of German language proficiency at C1 level of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). Please submit this proof during the application period – otherwise we will not be able to consider your application for the selection process. If you are applying for a degree programme taught exclusively in English, this requirement does not apply.
Regarding preliminary examination documentation (VPD): If you are applying with foreign certificates, uni-assist will first review your documents. Once the documents have been successfully checked, you will receive the VPD. Upload it to the applicant portal together with the rest of your documents – within the application deadline. The VPD must be issued for Worms University of Applied Sciences and must not be more than one year old.
Applicants who have completed an assessment test or a preparatory college programme are exempt from the VPD requirement.
How to apply for a VPD:
- Gather your documents and have them translated if necessary
- Register with uni-assist and enter your details
- Select your preferred semester and Worms University of Applied Sciences
- Upload your documents to My assist
- Pay the processing fee
In that case, please also upload:
- Employment contract for the dual study programme with a partner organisation of Worms University of Applied Sciences
The contract with a partner organisation of Worms University of Applied Sciences is compulsory for dual study programmes.

Additional documents for your Master’s application
To apply for a Master’s programme, you will need a first professional qualification. Please also have the following documents to hand:
- A Bachelor’s degree certificate or a transcript of records showing your current grade point average and ECTS credits, if you have not yet completed your Bachelor’s degree
- A certificate of de-registration, if you have already de-registered. If you have not yet de-registered, please submit this as soon as possible following admission – at the latest by the end of the first academic semester. You may also choose to wait for the outcome of the admissions process before deregistering from your current university.
In that case, please also upload:
- Proof of German language proficiency
- Preliminary application documentation (VPD), issued by uni-assist for Worms University of Applied Sciences

- Pay the processing fee
In that case, please also upload:

The contract with a partner organisation of Worms University of Applied Sciences is compulsory for dual study programmes.
For these further education programmes, the aptitude test is organised in advance by the programme itself.
